V2G
From SanFranciscoEVA
V2G (Vehicle to Grid) technology allows for the bi-directional sharing of electricity between Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Plug-in Electric Hybrid Vehicles (PHEVs) and the electric power grid.
With V2G the EV becomes a power storage system, increasing the reliability of the power grid and the amount of renewable energy available to the grid during peak power usage. The batteries in the EV can be charged when there is abundant electricity on the power grid. During periods of peak electricity demand energy can be transferred from the EV's batteries to the power grid.
